VCDSA Endorses Hannah-Beth Jackson

Hannah-Beth Jackson (Dem), a long time supporter of public safety, was endorsed by the Ventura County Deputy Sheriffs' Association Political Action Committee. Jackson is a candidate in the race for the 19th District for the State Senate. Jackson served six years in the California State Assembly from 1998 to 2004 representing the 35th District encompassing Ventura, Oxnard and much of Santa Barbara County. She was named Legislator of the Year by the Consumer Federation of California, the Congress of California Seniors, the California League of Conservation Voters, the National Organization for Women, and the Junior League of California and Californians Against Waste. In addition to VCDSA, Jackson has received prior endorsements from the Ventura Coounty Professional Peace Officers' Association, Association for Los Angeles Deputy Sheriffs, Ventura County Prosecutors Association, Santa Barbara County Firefighters IAFF Local 2046, Oxnard Firefighters for Better Government IAFF Local 1684, Los Angeles Police Protective League among others.

The Ventura County Sheriff’s Department budget is managed by the elected Sheriff. The Sheriff’s Department receives funding from the County of Ventura. Financial decisions are made by the elected members of the Ventura County Board of Supervisors. The board makes annual assessments regarding the importance of public safety funding. Look at a current meeting agenda or scroll through past meetings here. For Ventura County to remain safe and free from drugs, gangs and domestic violence, voice your opinion to your elected officials and tell them public safety matters to you!
